I was listening to Marianne Williamson last week whilst doing my spiritual alignment work for the day and she shared the below reminder regarding the work we do in the world.
“When it comes to career the question to ask is- “How can what I am doing carry the energy of who I truly am?” Who we are as created and determined by God/Universe. We must remind ourselves that our career is a vehicle for love and not a vehicle for getting more money, recognition or stuff.”
This was just the reminder I needed to hear and maybe you do too? When we become solely concerned with “getting ours” we shift from a mindset of service and into fear and scarcity. And as many of us have experienced when in the clutches of scarcity we are cut off from flow and operating at our highest potential. We feel stuck and our lives lack harmony.
It’s not about selling something, it’s about sharing something.
Sustainable peace and satisfaction lies not on the other side of what we are doing rather in the state who we are being.
Not sure how to concern yourself with being vs. doing? Try this powerful morning prayer from A Course in Miracles:
Dear Universe, where would you have me go, what would you have me do, what would you have me say and to whom.”
This prayer shifts the focus away from “what do I need to do today” and towards “who am I called to be.”
I hope this message serves you.
