Friends, a bit of real talk.
I have been feeding myself a lot of negative mental garbage lately. I’ve been telling myself I am overwhelmed and don’t have the focus or attention span to work on all the projects I am involved with AND juggle clients.
“I will flounder if I try”, I say.
And I am fighting to re-write that dialogue in my heart + in my head.
I think we all do this at some point – struggle with self-doubt, self-sabotage, mental rubbish. And it’s precisely this self-sabotage that holds us back from bigness. See, at our core, we’re more afraid of success than we are of failure. Why? Because actualizing our fullest potential means we may have to shake things up a bit. (or a lot!)
We may be seen. We may be noticed.
We might have to live up to higher expectations.
We might actually do the things we’ve been put on this planet to do …. and then what?
We might have to reach further + do even more!
These are the thoughts that run laps in our heads + tell you that “you aren’t worthy” or “you aren’t enough.”
But, want to know the truth?
You were meant to shine.
You are enough.
You and I are meant to do magnificent things.
So I’m “rewriting my feelings.”
Flipping my feelings “upside down,” displacing the negative ones and making room to create positive ones.
Sweet soul, this is my latest mission and I’ve found it to be amazingly, heart-shakingly empowering.
“I am not overwhelmed. There is enough time and it will all get done.”
“I am an amazing wife, a savvy business owner and reliable friend.”
“I am centered and organized.”
I dare you to try this if you are doubting yourself in any way.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson
