“It’s hard to know where to start.”
We say that all the time, don’t we? When we want to move to a new city, start a new venture, go back to school, learn a new skill. We pull out that old chestnut of an excuse, shine it up, and then use it on the daily to explain why we’re not doing what we want to do.
But is it really true? Do you really not know how to begin?
Even when you feel lost, you can start setting goals to get what you want. And the good news? It’s easy.
Name something you care about or one thing you’d like to do. Now, is it totally impossible to Google it? To look up who’s doing the best work on the problem, to research the issue, to become involved with the solution…..or with the revolution?
What do you want to make happen so intensely that it vibrates with an electric buzz at the tip of your fingertips?
We act powerless because it’s become a habit. And (of course) it’s much, much easier to claim you don’t know where to begin rather than starting … and risking failure or hurt.
Start where you are.
Begin by asking that one question, making the initial call, starting the research, sending the first email.
Nurture an attitude of curiosity and commitment, and watch what happens.
Suspend fear and practice faith in the pursuit of something true, bold + insanely alive.
Your soul will thank you for it.
Just take the next right step.
You’ll figure it out.
You got this.
