We’ve all got different definitions of making magic happen. What’s yours?
Making magic happen is believing in yourself and in your ideas. It’s knowing the messages and signs you have seen in your life, AKA God, winks or synchronizations are real and leading you to exactly where you need to be. For instance, when you have an idea or a thought about what you want to do then the next commercial on the tv mentions something about it. Or, when you think of a friend or are talking about them, then they call you. That is magic and magic is happening all around you and for you every single day, if you choose to see it.
Of the things that you’ve accomplished in your life, what are you most proud of?
What I am most proud of in my life right now is having enough courage and strength to start the #30DaysSelfLove movement. By discovering self-love, I’ve been able to really inspire others around the world to let go of all the doubts and fears they face. Be setting an example and ridding myself of negative thoughts and opinions of others I was able to love myself enough to nourish an idea and make it come to life.
When you’re taking on a big new project, or you’ve set your eyes on a new goal, how do you actually, you know, make it happen?
I think first off is to truly believe in your idea/project fully 100% in your heart. Once you tell your heart that you are going to make it happen the Universe provides you with the tools to do so. I like to write my idea down fully from start to finish. It’s like building a house. You have to create the blueprint first and know exactly what it is that you want. Then I put it out to the Universe and ask it to provide with me the things that can help make it happen in my life.
Of course, the doubts come in but I try to cancel those thoughts right away so I can push through. Then I work smart, and utilize my time in the right way. I ask the right questions and following through with what I have set out to do each day. From the blueprint I created, I start checking off each thing that I finish and start writing new ideas. Then I allow it to all happen because truthfully all the plans we created always seem to happen differently and better than we usually imagine.
What books/tools/products/apps have helped you on your journey?
There’s quite a long list of books that I love that have helped. Aside from books, Oprah’s Surrender video is actually one of my favorites. If you ever feel down watch this short video:
I also love books such as “The Four agreements,” “The Mastery of Love,” and “The Artist Way” is a great tool to start feeling the magic in your life.
Most of us living big, challenging, magical lives have met our fair share of naysayers. How have you dealt with that?
For me, the naysayers were hard to deal with, especially in the beginning of my journey because of the acceptance I wanted to receive from them. I would doubt my thoughts and ideas if someone would question them. Now that I have learned that it has nothing to do with me and that I have to keep on moving forward, I don’t share my thoughts and dreams with everyone because not everyone will get it or understand. So the more I keep my magic closer to my heart, the safer I feel. As I write this I start thinking about how those naysayers are truly just a reflection of my own self, not truly believing in me. So the more I trust and believe in myself the less the naysayers will show up.
When you have moments of doubt or get distracted, how do you refocus on your goals?
I get out of the house and take a walk or a hike. I get back to my roots and start listening to myself again. Sometimes within that I will record myself and let it all out and boy that feels great!
What’s the most magical thing going on in your life right now?
Everything to me right now is feeling pretty magical, this week is a huge week for me as I release my app 30 Days Self Love and my book Wake Up and Choose YOU! After a year of really diving deep into self-work I can hardly believe all that has come from it and that magic that has been created. I am so happy, so grateful and humbled by it all.
If you could build a perfect day from scratch, what would it look like? (Where would you be? When would you wake up and go to sleep? Who would be with you? What would you eat/drink/do?)
This is a great question and a wonderful practice. If I could create my magical/perfect day it would be to wake up and watch the sunrise with the mountains ahead of me and the ocean to my right. A cup of tea would be sitting on my porch along with some yummy juice or fruit. I would engage in a wonderful conversation with my loved ones sharing inspirations, thoughts and what we want to accomplish for our day. I would then sit for a meditation or possibly go on a run through my beautiful landscape that will be around my house. While on my run I’ll engage in conversation with the neighbors, saying hello. After that I would head back home and have lunch with my significant other and family. Enjoy yummy Indian food, either chana or tika masala and naan bread and chai tea.
We’d be laughing, smiling and enjoying each other’s company. Everything would be peaceful and smooth and loving. From there I would pop into town, do a little work speaking to others about LOVE and life and how they can create the best life for themselves. I imagine it will be a tv show that I am hosting with a couple other people that will help inspire others around the world. This is a really important part of my life that I want to share with the world.
From there I would go horseback riding on the beach have dinner on the sand watching the sunset magically over the ocean with my loved ones. We’d enjoy Italian food with salad, for dinner. Then we’d head inside to enjoy the rest of the night listening to my favorite music, dancing singing and laughing. Then I’d end the night being in complete gratitude of my day and sleeping like a baby with the best dreams.
Sarah Karges created the #30DaysSelfLove movement which all started with one YouTube video. This movement is profoundly changing the lives of people worldwide by challenging them to record a video each day saying, “I love you” to themselves. Within a year the movement has evolved into an online community with a mobile app and book released on February 5th.
